Dhaka, 20 September 2025 – The Holy Spirit Institute of Theology, Banani, Dhaka, successfully organized a seminar on Saturday under the theme “Nicene Creed Now: What Does It Matter?” The event, held at the Holy Spirit Auditorium, brought together teachers, formators, and students for an engaging and reflective discussion on the relevance of the Nicene Creed in today’s world.

The programme began at 9:00 a.m. with the first session led by Rev. Dr. John Probhudan Hira, who spoke on “Nicene Creed Now: What Does It Matter? – Church of Bangladesh Perspective.” His presentation highlighted the significance of the Creed in the Anglican Church context, stressing its role in strengthening faith amidst contemporary challenges.

Following a short refreshment break, the second session started at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. Patrick Simon Gomes delivered a thought-provoking talk on “Nicene Creed Now: What Does It Matter? – Perspective of the Catholic Church.” He emphasized the Creed as a foundation of unity and identity for Catholics worldwide, underscoring its continued relevance for the universal Church.

The seminar concluded with an open discussion where participants actively shared insights and questions, making the session more interactive and enriching. Finally, at 12:30 p.m., all teachers and students joined together for a fellowship lunch, marking the end of the day’s programme.
